During the early morning of November 15th at 2:53am the Hyalite Fire District was dispatched for a report of a smoke odor in a multi family dwelling on Talon Way. First arriving fire crews found a multi family dwelling with an activated horn and strobe alarm indicating an automatic sprinkler system had been activated. Crews quickly investigated and found a small fire burning on an exterior patio being contained by a fire sprinkler system. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the remaining fire. The fire sprinkler system activated automatically when the fire started and was able to keep the fire contained until fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported and the fire only burned the exterior of the home. Additional fire crews were dispatched when the fire was discovered but later cancelled. Gallatin County Sheriff deputies assisted in evacuating surrounding units. Hyalite Fire responded with two structure fire engines and two incident command units. The fire was determined to be accidental.
